NOEVA holds 126 patent-pending families covering privacy-preserving identity, consent preservation, AI safety, and decentralised infrastructure. About 35 families are pledged open under RAND-Z terms. The rest are commercially licensed, with revenue funding the open infrastructure and research.

Open infrastructure pledge

Not all 126 families are open. Some fund the foundation through commercial licensing. But the core infrastructure protocols are pledged open, because they need adoption to be valuable, and adoption requires trust.

The following patent families are available under RAND-Z (royalty-free) terms for any conforming open source implementation of NOEVA protocols. Commercial implementations require a separate licence.

What's open

The roads. Identity protocols, consent architecture, safety layers, transport. Everything needed to build interoperable, privacy-preserving infrastructure. Free for open source. Commercially licensed for proprietary use.

What's commercial

The buildings on those roads. Coherence hardware, emotional modelling, specialised applications, the care economy architecture. Revenue from commercial licensing funds the open infrastructure and the research.

Why this matters

The patent portfolio exists to protect open infrastructure, not to extract rent. By establishing prior art and defensive patents, NOEVA ensures that privacy-preserving identity infrastructure cannot be locked up by extractive platforms.

These patents cover the full stack of human-centred AI: from how identity is represented, to how consent propagates, to how agents transact. The goal is an open ecosystem where anyone can build, with protocol-level guarantees that safety constraints cannot be removed.
